Surface Preparation:
Proper floor preparation is essential to achieve optimum performance and appearance.
Fill all nail holes and imperfections with a suitable water-based timber putty and allow to dry completely.
Sand uncoated timber floors using 120–150 grit sandpaper or screen-back abrasive on a flexible pad until the surface is uniformly dull and free from scratches, nibs, fluff, or fur.
Vacuum thoroughly to remove all dust and debris. Take care to avoid scratching the prepared surface.
Mixing:
Stir Part A thoroughly before use.
Mix AQUAPRO Sports Gloss Part A with AQUAPRO Sports Part B Hardener at a ratio of 10:1 by volume. Mix thoroughly before application.
Application Tools:
- 10mm nap microfibre roller cover
- Weighted applicator bar
- High-quality brush for cutting in edges and perimeter areas
Application:
- Apply a liberal first coat of AQUAPRO 8020 Clear Sealer using a 10mm nap microfibre roller or weighted applicator bar and a quality brush for edges. Alternatively, FASTASEAL 3030 or FASTASEAL 3535 may be used, applied with a 6mm nap microfibre roller. For tannin-rich timbers, FASTASEAL 3535 is recommended to minimise tannin bleed.
- Allow the sealer to dry according to the relevant product datasheet.
- Sanding is not essential; however, for an improved finish, lightly sand using 150–180 grit sandpaper or screen-back abrasive. If FASTASEAL has been allowed to dry for more than 24 hours, sanding is mandatory.
- Vacuum all dust thoroughly.
- Court and game line markings may be applied after the first or second coating stage. Always test compatibility between AQUAPRO Sports Gloss and the selected line marking paint before full application.
- Apply the first coat of AQUAPRO Sports Gloss mixed with either AQUAPRO Sports Part B Hardener or AQUAPRO Sports Crosslinker.
- Allow to dry for 3–4 hours.
- Sanding between coats is optional but recommended for optimum finish quality. If sanding, use 150–180 grit sandpaper or screen-back abrasive and vacuum thoroughly.
- Apply the final coat of AQUAPRO Sports Gloss mixed with either AQUAPRO Sports Part B Hardener or AQUAPRO Sports Crosslinker.
