Surface Preparation
Proper preparation is essential to achieve the best results.
Fill all nail holes and surface imperfections with a suitable water-based timber putty and allow to dry completely.
Sand uncoated timber floors using 120–150 grit sandpaper or screen-back abrasive on a flexible pad to achieve a uniformly dull, defect-free surface free from scratches, nibs, or fur. Vacuum thoroughly and take care to avoid scratching the prepared surface.
Mixing
Stir thoroughly before use to ensure uniform consistency.

- 6mm nap roller or applicator
- High-quality brush for cutting in edges and skirting boards
Application
Timber Floor System:
- Apply a liberal first coat of DURAPOL® 1044 or 1045, Titan Gloss, POLYTHANE® 2043, or FASTASEAL® 3030, 3535, or 3540 using a 6mm mohair roller and brush for edges.
- If using FASTASEAL®, allow to dry for approximately 45 minutes before sanding. For other systems, allow to dry overnight (minimum 8 hours, up to 24 hours).
- Apply a second coat of DURAPOL® 1044 or 1045 Gloss, Titan Gloss, or POLYTHANE® 2043. Allow to dry overnight (8–24 hours).
- Sand thoroughly using 150–180 grit sandpaper or screen-back abrasive to remove nibs, fluff, and surface imperfections. Vacuum all dust.
- Apply the final coat of DURAPOL® 1014 Low-Sheen to achieve the desired finish.
