POLYCURE POLYTHANE 2043 Gloss is a high-performance two-pack polyurethane floor coating designed for interior timber, parquetry, particleboard, and cork flooring. It delivers an extremely durable, hard-wearing protective finish with a superior mirror-like gloss when used as part of a complete Polycure system.
Engineered for demanding interior applications, POLYTHANE 2043 provides excellent flow and levelling, enhancing the natural colour of timber while producing a smooth, high-gloss surface finish.

Surface Preparation:
- Fill all nail holes with a suitable water-based timber putty and allow to dry.
- Sand uncoated floors using 120–150 grit sandpaper or screenback pad until uniformly dull and smooth.
- Vacuum thoroughly to remove all dust and debris.
- Ensure surface is clean, dry, and free from contamination prior to coating.
Mixing:
Stir thoroughly before use and mix with the appropriate Polycure hardener as specified in the technical data sheet.
Application Tools:
- 6mm mohair roller
- High-quality brush for cutting in
Application Instructions:
- Apply a suitable first coat system (e.g., FASTASEAL 3030 or compatible primer) using a 6mm mohair roller and brush.
- If FASTASEAL is used, allow approximately 45 minutes drying time before sanding. Otherwise, allow at least 16 hours.
- Sand thoroughly using 150–180 grit screenback to remove nibs and raised grain. Vacuum all dust.
- Apply POLYTHANE 2043 mixed system as the second coat.
- Allow appropriate curing time as per system specification.
- Lightly sand if required between coats for optimal adhesion and apply final coat for a high-gloss finish.
